Pembroke to honour Jolan Wong with Key to the City

The City of Pembroke will honour sitting volleyball Paralympic bronze medallist Jolan Wong with a Key to the City to recognize her tremendous accomplishments in sport.

Mayor Gervais will present the key to Jolan during the Pembroke Lumber Kings game at the Pembroke Memorial Centre (PMC) Sunday, October 13.

Jolan has had an incredibly successful career in sitting volleyball, achieving bronze medals at the 2015 and 2019 Parapan American Games and a silver medal at the 2022 World Para Volleyball...

Residents of Pembroke,

I hope you have been enjoying a beautiful summer in the Heart of the Ottawa Valley. Our city and our region have so much to appreciate and celebrate. As you gather with family and friends on this last long weekend of the season, I encourage you to have fun but remain safe. Summer weekends traditionally lead to increased injuries and fatalities due to motor vehicle and boating accidents. With care and caution, we can all have a summer that is both exciting and safe.
