Plans of Subdivision and Condominium
The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing has delegated approval powers for plans of subdivision to the Corporation of the City of Pembroke pursuant to section 4 of the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990, effective January 4, 1994. Therefore, all applications for plans of subdivision for lands in the City of Pembroke are to be filed directly with the Planning, Building and By-law Department. Prior to submission of an application, applicants are advised to consult the planner and ensure measurements are in metric units.
The subdivision approval process is designed to ensure:
- The property is suitable for its proposed new use
- The proposal conforms to the provincial legislation and to the City of Pembroke’s Official Plan
- The community is protected from developments that are unnecessary and put extra strain on community facilities, services or finances
Documents needed for application:
- Completed application form
- Two copies of the draft plan on large format paper
