Routine Flushing of the Water Main Distribution System
The City of Pembroke will perform routine flushing of the water main distribution system April through November:
Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 3:30pm and Friday from 7:30am until noon
Occasional evening shift in downtown core & higher traffic areas
Water main flushing starts from the Water Purification Plant working westerly towards city limits and then from Riverside Drive area working easterly towards city limits.

Annual Sanitary Sewer Main Cleaning
The City of Pembroke will perform annual sanitary sewer main cleaning April until mid December:
Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 3:30pm and Friday from 7:30am until noon
Occasional evening shift in the downtown core & higher traffic areas
While crews are working on your street you may:
- Hear gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains
- Air pressure in the sewer can cause water to splash out through your toilets, sinks and drains

City of Pembroke Planned Temporary Traffic Disruption Notice to Facilitate Geotechnical Investigations – Area of River Road, Ellis Avenue, Laurier Avenue, Deacon Street, Mackay Street, Bell StreetBeginning Monday March 25th, and until Thursday April 4th, 2024 from 7:30 am to 4:30pm each day, the above mentioned streets will be reduced to one lane due to geotechnical investigations.

Council awards contract for Kinsmen Pool repairs

The Kinsmen Pool Butler building will be repaired in 2024.
At the March 19 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting, Council voted to award the contract for the repair project, which includes the removal, supply, and replacement and installation of the walls and roof of the existing Butler building.
The project is expected to wrap up in September.
