The Pembroke Fire Department focuses on fire safety for residents, businesses, and property owners to keep everyone in our city protected.
Smoke alarms |
Every home in Ontario must have a working smoke alarm on every storey and outside all sleeping areas. Homeowners must install and maintain smoke alarms. Landlords must ensure their rental properties comply with the law. |
Carbon monoxide alarms |
In Ontario, you must have a working carbon monoxide alarm adjacent to each sleeping area of your home if you have a fuel-burning appliance, a fireplace, or an attached garage. |
Inspections |
The Fire Department will conduct inspections of occupancies within the City of Pembroke to ensure they are compliant with the Ontario Fire Code. Inspections can be requested through the officer in charge at 613-735-6821 ext. 1201. Fees for inspections may apply. |
Fire safety plans |
Major occupancies are required to have a fire safety plan approved by the Fire Chief or their designate. The Fire Department will assist in the development of the plan. Contact the department at 613-735-6821 ext. 1201 for further information. |
