Pembroke residents are able to bring leaves and grass clippings, loose or in paper bags, to the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre (OVWRC) free of charge.
Mixed leaf and yard waste, branches, tree limbs and stumps are directed to the brush pile and charged at $95/tonne for Pembroke residents.
Leaf and yard waste curbside collection
- Curbside collection of leaf and yard waste occurs when the leaf and yard waste symbol appears on your collection schedule
- Acceptable items include: leaves, branches, garden/hedge/tree trimmings, house and garden plants
- Use open top, rigid, reusable containers, cardboard boxes, or paper yard waste bags
- Individual branches must not exceed two inches (5 centimetres) in diameter and four feet (1.2 metres) in length
- Bundled branches and twigs must not exceed two feet (0.6 metres) in diameter
- Individual bags/bundles/containers cannot exceed 50 pounds (23 kilograms)
- Leaf and yard waste must be kept separate from other items out for collection
- Leaf and yard waste in plastic bags will not be collected
Branches that exceed the dimensions above are considered brush. This material will be accepted at the OVWRC’s Construction & Demolition site. Applicable fees apply.
