October 23rd, 2025

Operator Appreciation Day
in the City of Pembroke.
Whereas Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Operators are dedicated professionals working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the delivery of clean, safe drinking water, the effective treatment of wastewater, and the sound management of stormwater systems; and
Whereas Water Operators oversee complex treatment systems, monitor water quality, and respond to system demands and emergencies to ensure continuous access to safe water; and
Whereas Wastewater Operators are responsible for the collection and treatment of sewage and industrial waste, preventing pollution in our river, lakes, and natural ecosystems; and
Whereas Stormwater Operators protect properties and infrastructure by managing runoff, reducing flood risk and enhancing water quality through innovative green infrastructure; and
Whereas the dedication and expertise of these vital workers ensure our community remains safe and sustainable.
Therefore: I, Ron Gervais, Mayor of the City of Pembroke, hereby proclaim October 23rd, 2025, “Operator Appreciation Day” in the City of Pembroke, dedicated to recognizing the vital contributions of Ontario’s Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Operators.
