
Notice of Public Meeting Concerning a Proposed Update to the Community Improvement Plan
TAKE NOTICE THAT, in accordance with Section 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pembroke will hold a Public Meeting on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at City Hall at 6:00 p.m., to consider a proposed update to the City of Pembroke Community Improvement Plan (CIP), which was last adopted by Council on August 9, 2016.
THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the proposed update to the CIP is to encourage and promote continued revitalization and private investment in the City of Pembroke. The proposed CIP includes a series of Financial Incentive Programs that will be available for private property owners throughout the Community Improvement Project Area to support development, redevelopment, and enhancement in the City of Pembroke.
THE SUBJECT LANDS included as part of the proposed Community Improvement Project Area and the update to the CIP include all lands within the entire municipality. As such, no key map is provided.
This is a public meeting and you are welcome to participate either in-person, or by requesting a link to attend virtually via Zoom, or by providing a letter of your concerns to hsutherland@pembroke.ca or by calling 613-735-6821 Ext. 1500. The meeting will be live streamed on the City’s YouTube channel.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The proposed CIP will be available for public review beginning on November 12, 2025 during regular office hours at City Hall (1 Pembroke Street East, Pembroke, Ontario) and online.
IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the decision of the Corporation of the City of Pembroke on the proposed update to the CIP, you must make a written request to Heather Sutherland at 1 Pembroke Street East, Pembroke, ON K8A 3J5 or hsutherland@pembroke.ca.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Corporation of the City of Pembroke to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of the City of Pembroke before the by-laws for the proposed Community Improvement Project Area and CIP are passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of the City of Pembroke before the by-laws for the proposed Community Improvement Project Area and CIP are passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
