No concerns with drinking water after Muskrat River spill this weekend

The City of Pembroke, supported by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, is currently investigating a hydrocarbon spill along the Muskrat River that happened over the weekend.
Staff are working to determine the source and absorbent cloth across the river will stay in place until then. Cleanup activities are ongoing, with no further contaminant going into the river.
The drinking water system is producing clean drinking water as usual. There are NO drinking water quality advisories currently in place.
The City has not been informed of any concerns with overall river safety.
