National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week Proclamation - November 2-8, 2025
By virtue of the power vested in me
I Hereby Declare
November 2-8, 2025
as
National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week
in the City of Pembroke.
Whereas animal centers across Canada provide essential services to support animals and the people who care about them; and
Whereas center staff and volunteers work tirelessly and compassionately to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home animals in need, often going above and beyond to ensure every animal receives the chance at a better life; and
Whereas our animal centers are vital partners in creating safe, compassionate communities, from adoption, emergency boarding, animal care, emergency response, and community outreach; and
Whereas National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, observed annually during the first full week of November, offers an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of animal services in our region, as well as the dedicated individuals who serve in these life-saving roles.
Therefore, I, Ron Gervais, Mayor of the City of Pembroke, hereby proclaim November 2-8, 2025, “National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week” in the City of Pembroke, dedicated to honoring the organizations and individuals who embody compassion, resilience, and hope for animals in need, and to encourage members of the public to support and engage with their local animal centers through volunteering, fostering, donating, or adopting.
Dated in the Mayor’s Office this 4th day of November, 2025
Ron Gervais
Mayor, City of Pembroke
