There are times when gratitude is not expressed as much as it should be.
Recently, I’ve been reminded that it is important to actively show gratitude for all the people, organizations, associations, and more that work together to make Pembroke the amazing community it is.
The countless hours put in every year by local volunteers is of immeasurable value and I, along with Council, am truly appreciative of that dedication to our community.
Municipalities contend with a lot of pressures – services to provide, facilities to upkeep, infrastructure to maintain. We have excellent staff at the City of Pembroke who truly pride themselves in their work, but at times, we still face gaps in what we can offer. Here is where, time and time again, throughout this City’s history, volunteers have stepped up. They fill those gaps. They enhance our offerings. They make Pembroke better. And all because they love their community and want it to be the best version of itself that it can be.
So, thank you. Thank you to all people who have shared their expertise and given of themselves to build up Pembroke. This city would not be what it is without you.
With gratitude,
Mayor Ron Gervais
