Operations Committee 

Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund (DMAF) - Moffat Street Slope Stability 

Committee directed staff to submit an application to the federal government under the Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund, for outfalls and inland flooding.  The Mayor will again contact the Provincial Government requesting funds to contribute to aid the Moffat Street Slope Stability issues.  If a positive response from the Province, a second application will be submitted to DMAF for the Slope Stability.

Pembroke Street West Phase 4 - Tender Contract No. 20-0264-4

Committee approved award of the Tender for Pembroke Street West Phase 4 to H & H Construction.

2022 Municipal Election Compliance Report of the Clerk 

Committee heard the report from the Clerk indicating a report is available to the public setting out all candidates in the 2022 Election and indicating whether each candidate complied with Section 88.25 of the Municipal Elections Act. Two candidates failed to file their financial statements.  This information can be found on the City’s website.

Pembroke 50+ Active Living Center Lease Agreement 

Committee recommended Council to approve the Pembroke 50+ Active Living Centre Lease agreement.

Parks & Recreation Committee 

Riverside Park Ball Diamond #4 Scoreboard Donation

The information report to Committee stated that Bogies Bar has donated 100% of the costs associated with a new scoreboard for Riverside Park Ball Diamond #4 which will be installed the first week of July.

Little League Ontario Senior Provincials - Fee Waiver Request 

Committee approved the request to waive the fees for the upcoming Little League Ontario Senior Provincial Baseball Tournament taking place July 6-10, 2023.

Pembroke and Area Fiddling Association - Use of Riverside Park 

Committee approved the use of Riverside Park in the amount of $6,500 for the annual Pembroke Fiddle and Step Dancing Contest. 

Permanent Pickleball Courts at Kinsmen Park 

Committee approved a permanent pickleball net to be erected at the Kinsmen Park multi-purpose court with an agreement developed to satisfy both the Pembroke Pickleball Club and the Parks & Recreation Department.

Mayor Gervais proclaimed June 1-4, 2023 Pride Week in the City of Pembroke. 

By-law 2023-16 Sale of Land Along Willard Street to Ron Gervais

Council passed By-law 2023-16 approving the sale of land on Willard Street to Ron Gervais.

By-law 2023-36 Sale and Disposition of Land Policy 

Council passed By-Law 2023-36, a by-law to adopt a Sale and Disposition of Land Policy. 

By-law 2023-37 Revision to Property Standards By-law 

Council passed By-law 2023-37, a by-law to amend By-law 2021-25 for prescribing standards for the maintenance and occupancy of property with the City of Pembroke.

By-law 2023-38 Amendment to Building By-law 

Council passed By-law 2023-38, a by-law to amend By-law 2018-01, being a by-law to provide for the administration and enforcement of the Building Code Act. 

By-law 2023-39 PBIA Church Street On-Street Patio

Council passed By-law 2023-39, a by-law to authorize the entering into of an encroachment agreement between the Pembroke Business Improvement Area (PBIA) and the City of Pembroke. 

By-law 2023-40 Emergency Management Program and Emergency Plan By-law 

Council passed By-law 2023-40, a by-law to authorize and adopt the City of Pembroke’s Emergency Management Program and Emergency Plan. 

By-law 2023-41 Pembroke 50+ Active Living Center Lease Agreement 

Council passed By-law 2023-41, a by-law to authorize the entering into of an agreement with the Pembroke 50+ Active Living Centre regarding the rental of City-owned property at 42 Renfrew Street. 

By-law 2023-42 Procurement By-law

Council passed By-law 2023-42, a by-law for the City’s governing procurement policies and procedures.

2023-43 ATV By-law Amendment 

Council passed By-law 2023-43 to amend By-law 2017-69 to regulate and govern the operation of All-Terrain, Multi-purpose and Recreational Off-Road vehicles within the City of Pembroke. 

Resolution 2023-010 - Support of Bill B: The Stopping Harassment and Abuse of Local Leaders Act 

A motion was moved by Councillor Lafreniere to support Bill 5:  The Stopping Harassment and Abuse by Local Leaders Act, 2022.
