Planning & Development Committee
Visitor Information Sign
Committee directed staff to have the Visitor Information sign removed from 2 International Drive, O’Kenny’s Crafts Spirits, with the wiring and concrete base to remain on-site. Mr. Kenny to provide $1,000 to support the removal.
Community Improvement Plan Request- 259 Pembroke Street East
The Community Improvement Panel recommended to Committee, and Council approved a grant to 259 Pembroke Street East of $5,000.
Asset Naming Policy
Staff was directed to bring an Asset Naming Policy to a future Council meeting for approval with the existing list of requested street names to be assessed with the presented matrix.
PBIA Art Project Request
Committee approved a request from the PBIA that Shamrock Park and Coronation Park be used to display art for the PBIA Art Project with an encroachment agreement be entered into between the City of Pembroke and the PBIA to permit the gallery on City property.
Proposed Amendment to Taxi and Limousine By-law
Staff was directed to review and amend the current Taxi and Limousine By-laws to meet minimum requirements while ensuring the safety of the residents.
Proposed Amendment to Site Plan Control By-law
Committee directed staff to amend and present the City Site Plan Control By-law for the June 20, 2023, meeting for approval.
Proposed Official Olan Amendments
Committee directed staff to amend the City’s Official Plan and begin the Public Meeting process.
Subdivision Agreement Request for James W. Lapointe Motor Holdings Inc. Subdivision off Boundary Road
Committee directed staff to bring a by-law to Council to transfer two parts to Ottawa River Power Corporation for a hydro easement, to dedicate a part as a public highway, and to bring the Subdivision Agreement to Council at a later date.

PFD Monthly Report May 2023
Committee received the April 26 – May 30, 2023 Pembroke Fire Department Report that outlined the Departments Prevention & Public Education Activities, Employee Recognition, Staff Promotions, Vulnerable Occupancy Inspections and Drills, Emergency Management, EOC/Training Room events, Pembroke Professional Firefighters Association events and Career Firefighter Training for the Month of May 2023. Pet notification stickers, which notify Firefighters that there are pets inside, can be obtained at the Pembroke Fire Department and the OSPCA.
By-law to Regulate Recreational Open-Air Burning
Committee directed staff to bring back options regarding opening the permit process to include all properties that meet specific standards and engage the public in consultation.
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Update
Committee heard a report from the Chief Administrative Officer on what the City of Pembroke has done and continues to do to ensure all residents and visitors are made to feel safe, included and welcomed.

Mayor Gervais proclaimed the month of June 2023 as Stroke Awareness Month in the City of Pembroke.
By-law 2023-44- User Fee By-law
Council approved By-law 2023-44 a by-law to establish fees and charges on persons for payment of municipal services, activities, and use of municipal property for the City of Pembroke.
