Pembroke Horticultural Society Presentation 

Mrs. Vandersleen and Mrs. Hugli provided an update on the activities of the Pembroke Horticultural Society. Mrs. Elaine Metzger was presented with a gift and the Mayor’s Award in recognition of the many hours and years she volunteered with the Pembroke Horticultural Society and for making such a difference in the City of Pembroke.

Pembroke and Area Airport 2023 Annual Report and Update Presentation

Jennifer Layman and Allan Wren provided an update on the 2023 activities of the Pembroke and Area Airport.

Riverside Park and Sports Field Rates

This item was tabled, and staff were directed to report back in May with a report that includes a 5% increase in user fees.

Council approved the appointment of Joanna Els and Melissa Oleynik to the Pembroke Business Improvement Area Board.     

Proclamation – Earth Day – April 22, 2024

Mayor Gervais proclaimed April 22, 2024, as Earth Day in the City of Pembroke.   

Proclamation – First Responders Day – May 1, 2024

The Mayor proclaimed May 1, 2024 as First Responders Day in the City of Pembroke.   

By-law 2024-25 Short-Term Rentals and other Housekeeping Zoning Items

Council passed By-law 2024-25, a by-law to authorize the amendment of the Zoning By-law (2020-05) to include a definition of Short-term Rentals along with a set of “Short-Term Rental” provisions to regulate and control short-term rentals. The By-law also amended other housekeeping items. 

By-law 2024-26 Zoning By-law Amendment – 659 Mackay St.

Council passed By-law 2024-26, a by-law to allow the rezoning of 659 Mackay St.

By-law 2024-27 Appoint By-law Enforcement Officers

Council passed By-law 2024-27, a by-law to appoint KellyAnn Lee-Carter and Brian R. Carter as Municipal By-law Enforcement Officers in the City of Pembroke for the purpose of upholding the City’s Parking By-law 2023-88 and its amendments and for the issuing of parking tickets only for the parking lots associated with 315 Pembroke St. E., 137 Peter St., and 150 Peter St.

Pursuant to Section 9.3.3 of the Procedural By-law (2020-61) this item was withdrawn.
