Wondering what to do with your Christmas tree once the holiday season wraps up?
The City of Pembroke will collect Christmas trees during the week of January 6 on your regular collection day (weather permitting, in case of significant snowstorm, collection will be rescheduled). Here’s what you need to know:
-Set your tree out before 6 a.m. on your collection day.
-Trees will be collected by the City Operations Department separately from all other materials.
-Remove all lights, decorations, and tinsel before placing your tree out.
-Artificial trees or trees in plastic bags will not be collected.
-Do not place trees on snowbanks or in your green cart.
Alternatively, you can drop off your tree free of charge at the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre during January. The OVWRC turns the trees into chips used in composting.
For more information on recycling and composting programs, refer to your Collection Schedule.
