As announced by the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment yesterday, the police are currently investigating the homicide deaths of two individuals which occurred during the early morning hours of May 22nd in the City of Pembroke.
Mayor Gervais is in regular contact with representatives of the OPP. As the OPP are conducting an on-going investigation, there will be no further comment by the City. The OPP will release further information as it becomes available.
Mayor Gervais stated, “we live in a safe City and there is no threat to the community”. He added that “on behalf of Council, I offer sincere condolences to the family and friends of the victims and wish to thank the OPP for their dedication and professionalism as they investigate this unfortunate incident.”
