The following actions were taken at the Council meeting of Tuesday, February 15, 2022:

Public Meeting

A public meeting was held regarding the redesignation of 2 & 10 Bennett Street.

Parks & Recreation Committee

Community Improvement Panel Request

Committee approved the CIP request for 162 Pembroke Street West.

Bass Fishing Derby – Petawawa/Pembroke Civitan Request

Committee approved the request from the Petawawa and Pembroke Civitan Clubs to waive fees to utilize space at Centenary Park for the annual fishing derby on August 13, 2022.

Marina Rate Review – 2022

Committee approved an increase for marina rates for boat slips and fees at the Pembroke Marina for the 2022 boating season.

Operations Committee

Municipal Modernization Program intake 3 – Transfer Payment Agreement – City of Pembroke Building Department Information Technology and Service Modernization

The Committee accepted the Transfer Payment Agreement regarding the Municipal Modernization Program Intake 3 for the Pembroke Building Department Information Technology and Service Modernization.

Municipal Modernization Program Intake 2 Amendment – Transfer Payment Agreement – City of Pembroke Public Works Information Technology and Service Modernization

The Committee accepted the Transfer Payment Agreement amendment regarding the Municipal Modernization Program Intake 2 for the City of Pembroke Public Works Information Technology and service Modernization.

Winter Control Operations for Sidewalk Snow Plowing

The Committee directed staff to develop a formal policy for the Winter Control Operational Policy for sidewalk snow plowing for East, West and Center wards.

Standardization of Sidewalk Units

The Committee directed staff to standardize sidewalk maintenance equipment units.

Active Transportation Fund Application - Operations

The Committee directed staff to submit an application of the Active Transportation fund – Infrastructure Canada in the amount of $100,000.

Retube Volcano Boiler at Pollution Control Centre

The Committee approved the award of retubing of the Volcano Boiler project at the Pollution Control Centre to Black & McDonald.

Use of Pre-Treated Salt for Winter Control Operations

The Committee directed staff to proceed with using a pre-treated salt product for its winter control operations.

Council passed By-law 2022-17 authorizing the amendment of the Official Plan regarding 2 & 10 Bennett Street.

By-law 2022-18 – Zoning By-law Amendment – 2 & 10 Bennett Street

Council passed By-law 2022-18 authorizing the amendment of Zoning by-law 2020-05 regarding 2 & 10 Bennett Street.

By-law 2022-19 – MMP Intake 2 – Transfer payment Agreement Amendment

Council passed By-law 2022-19 authorizing the entering into an Ontario Transfer Payment Agreement Amendment.
